How do I create an event?
Tap the "+" button on the Events screen, fill in the event details (name, dates, budget), and tap "Create Event".
How do I add expenses to an event?
Open an event from the list, tap "Add Expense", fill in the expense details, and optionally attach a receipt photo. Tap "Add Expense" to save.
πΈ Receipt Scanning
How do I scan receipts?
When adding or editing an expense, tap "Add Receipt Photo" and choose Camera or Photo Library. The app will automatically extract merchant name and amount using OCR technology.
Why isn't OCR finding the correct amounts?
OCR works best with clear, well-lit photos. If amounts are incorrect, you can manually select the correct values by tapping "Select Amounts from Receipt" or just type them in manually.
π Premium Subscription
What's the difference between Free and Premium?
Free users can track up to 5 events with 50 expenses each. Premium users get unlimited events and expenses, no ads, and can export reports to PDF and CSV.
How do I upgrade to Premium?
Tap Settings β Subscription Details Section β tap the "Upgrade to Premium" button. Choose Monthly ($2.99/month), Yearly ($24.99/year), or Lifetime ($99.99 one-time).
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open iPhone Settings β [Your Name] β Subscriptions β Purr Diem β Cancel Subscription. You can cancel anytime.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open the app on your new device, go to Settings β Subscription β Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID that you used to purchase Premium.

Does Purr Diem sync across devices?
Yes! Your events and expenses automatically sync across all your Apple devices using the same iCloud account. No setup requiredβjust sign in with the same account.
Why aren't my expenses syncing?
Make sure you're signed into the same iCloud account on both devices (Settings β [Your Name] on iPhone/iPad). Sync typically happens within 10-30 seconds when online.
π Account & Security
How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings β Account β Delete Account. This will permanently delete all your data and cannot be undone.
Is my financial data secure?
Yes. All data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced to your private iCloud account (end-to-end encrypted). We never access, sell, or share your financial data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Can I sign in with Google or Apple?
Yes! Purr Diem supports Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, and Email/Password authentication.
π΅ Currency & Budgets
Can I track expenses in different currencies?
Yes! Go to Settings β Currency to select a display currency and enter an exchange rate. All amounts are stored in USD but displayed in your chosen currency.
How do per diem calculations work?
When creating an event, you can set a per diem amount (e.g., $50/day for meals). The app will calculate your total per diem allowance based on the event duration and track your meal expenses against it.

How do I export my expenses?
Premium users can export reports by opening an event and tapping the Export button. Choose PDF (professional report with charts) or CSV (opens in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets).
Can I email my expense reports?
Yes! After generating an export, tap "Share Export" and choose your email app. The file will be automatically attached.

The app isn't loading my data
Try force-quitting the app (swipe up from app switcher) and relaunching. If you're using iCloud sync, check that you're signed into iCloud in Settings.
I'm seeing ads but I have Premium
Go to Settings β Subscription β Restore Purchases. If the issue persists, contact support at support@coalsnap.com.
